Mack Tweed

October 13, 1938 — June 25, 2015

Candler Mack Tweed, 76, of 168 Liberty Road, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his residence. A native of Madison County, Mr. Tweed had resided in Buncombe County for the past 42 years. He was formerly employed with Caldwells Well Drilling for 26 years and in 1987, started the Tweed Trucking Company. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. One of twelve children, he was a son of the late Ted and Lula Davis Tweed and is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Barbara Tweed. Surviving in addition to his wife are their two children, Mack Tweed, Jr. and Teddy Tweed and wife Tammy all of Candler; seven grandchildren, Chad, John, Jamie, Cody, Jessie and Ayla Tweed and Lee White; six great grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, June 27, 2015 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Derrick McCarson and Rev. John Brendell officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home. Private burial will be held Sunday at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Bluff.
