MT. GILEAD, NC - Mary Louise Ray Bell, 73, formerly of Weaverville, died January 21, 2001 at her home. She was born February 18, 1927 in Buncombe County. She was the daughter of the late Prince Bismarck Ray and the late Effie Shelton Ray. She was a graduate of Weaverville High School and was a teller supervisor for First Union National Bank in Weaverville. She was a member of Second Street Presbyterian Church in Albemarle, NC. She is survived by her husband, David E. Bell, Jr, a daughter, Gloria McCurry, of Columbia, SC, a son in-law and daughter, John and Kathy Kilby, of Lake Lure, NC, a son in-law and daughter, Gary and Charlotte Burris, of Mt. Gilead, NC, a son and daughter in-law, David and Sheena Bell, of Murfreesboro, TN, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister, Helen Clark of Asheville, NC, a sister, Ruth Wilson, a brother, F. P. Ray, a brother and sister in-law, John and Lettie Ray, all of Weaverville, NC, and a sister in-law, Irene Ray, of Asheville, NC. The family will receive friends at Anders-Rice Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM Monday. Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00AM at First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville, where she was a member for over 40 years. The Revs. David Alexander, William T. Wing Jr., and Bruce Lax will officiate. Graveside services will follow the church service at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Street Presbyterian Church Kitchen Fund, 105 E.
