Lullene Tiller Dotson

January 20, 1917 — December 10, 2005

Nebo Nezzie Lullene Dotson, 88, formerly of Beaverdam Road, Asheville passed away Saturday, December 10, 2005 at McDowell Hospital. A native of Hartwell, GA, she had resided in Buncombe County since 1923 and moved to McDowell County in December of 2000. She was a 1935 graduate of Asheville High School and retired in 1994 as a sales lady with J.C. Penny following 37 years of service. Mrs. Dotson was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church where she was a former S.S. Teacher, Training Union Leader and head of the Communion for many years. She was a daughter of the late Hoyt Smith Tiller and Susie Alma Spears Tiller and natural mother, Mary Etta Myers Tiller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Terrell Winfield Dotson who died October 23, 1983 and her son, Buddy Dotson who died May 24, 1993. Surviving are her sons, Terrell Hoyt Dotson and wife Evelyn of Sylva and Claude F. Dotson and wife, Linda of Nebo; daughter-in- law, Anita Dotson of Columbia, SC; sister, Vera Nell Conner of Leceister; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Dr. John T. Tiller, Earl Moseley, Raymond Thompson and Darrell Worley officiating. Burial will be in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery with Tony Dotson, Scott Dotson, Mark Dotson, Tim Dotson, Dallas Stephens and Steve Fox serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Beaverdam Baptist Church, 399 Beaverdam Rd., Asheville, N.C. 28804.
