Lucille Overman "Mamaw" Rathbone

Lucille MaMaw Overman Rathbone, 94, of Candler, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. Mrs. Rathbone was the daughter of the late Robert Paw Bob Allen and Mary Maw Smith Overman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Alton Rathbone who died February 26, 2002; two sons, Gerald Edward and Jack Clifton; and by two brothers, Rosco Overman and George Overman. Surviving are her daughters: Geraldine Gosnell and her husband James of Candler, Linda Cabe and her husband Ralph of Candler, and Judy Roberts and her husband Johnny of Leicester; a son David Rathbone and his wife Joyce of Candler; 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 19, 2013, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Massey officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
