Lowell Elmer "Junior" Solesby Jr.

Asheville - Lowell Elmer Junior Solesby, Jr., 72, of 50 Kenwood Street, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 12, 2006 at his home. A native of Buncombe County, Junior had resided in Tryon for a period of time before returning to Buncombe County. He was a graduate of Western Carolina University and the Chief Engineer for St. Lukes Hospital of Tryon. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was the son of the late Lowell Elmer and Maude Crowder Solesby, and the widower of Lucille Ball Solesby, who passed away March 18, 2000. He was also preceded in death a daughter, Lee Ellen Solesby, who passed away January 3, 1995. Surviving are his daughters: Valorie Solesby Campbell of Morganton, and Elizabeth Ann Solesby of Chesnee, SC; 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
