Louise Lance Hensley

Asheville - Mary Louise Lance Hensley went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 10, 2005 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 5, 1925 in Henderson County and lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Minnie Collins Lance and the wife of the late Rev. Elmer C. Hensley. She was also preceded in death by infant daughter, Claudia Hensley; granddaughter, Haela Gabrelle Hensley and sister, May Lance Hyatt. Surviving are her 4 children, Ann Hensley of Fairview, Claude Hensley of Candler, Harold Hensley of Hendersonville and Debra Hensley of Asheville; brother, Paul Lance of Hendersonville; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Hensley, Kenneth Hensley, Kirk Hensley, Shannon Hensley Rhodes, Amy Hensley, Michael Hensley all of Buncombe and Henderson Counties and Emry and Amanda Hensley both of Baltic, Ohio; 8 great grandchildren and a special great grandson, Cody Hensley and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Area Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC. 28802.
