Lori June Bowman

Candler - Lori June Bowman, 44, of 56 Wildflower Dr., Lot 32, died Friday, April 11, 2003 at Mission St. Josephs Health System following a brief battle with cancer. A native of Kinston, she had lived in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a 1977 graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School and was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church. She was a devoted animal lover who always rescued strays and took them into her home. She was the daughter of Sigrid Hollifield Wampler and husband Jack of Asheville, and the late Richard Neal Bowman. Surviving in addition to her mother and step-father are her brothers, Hank Bowman and wife Katha of Candler, and Allen Bowman of Spartanburg, SC; niece, Britany Ann Bowman of Spartanburg. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday at Pole Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 PM Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
