Lola Bell Davis

Asheville Lola Bell Hollifield Davis, 94, formerly of 126 Olivette Road, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the WNC Baptist Home following a period of declining health. A native of Rutherford County, she had resided in Buncombe County over 60 years. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Caswell and Mae Quinn Hollifield, and the widow of Merdia Calvin Davis, her husband of 69 years, who passed away February 3, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Davis Cutshaw, four brothers, and two sisters. Surviving are her daughter, June Cutshaw of Fletcher; grandsons: Terry Cutshaw of Fletcher and James Parham of Arden; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Sprinkle officiating. Burial will be in the Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
