Asheville - Lois Foster McCoy, 86, of 19 Twin Oaks Drive, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2006 at her home. A native and resident of Buncombe County for most of her life, Mrs. McCoy assisted her husband for over 40 years in his business. She was a member of Newfound Baptist Church. Mrs. McCoy was a loving mother who was devoted to her family, and was loved by all who knew her. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Pearl Gillespie Foster, and the widow of John Nolan McCoy, who passed away in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanette McCoy Brannen, and two brothers: Dewey and Reeves Foster. Surviving are her sons: Gerald D. McCoy of Asheville and J. Larry McCoy of Macon, GA; daughter, Lynda McCoy Rogers and husband Craig of Leicester; sister, Jewel Dover of Leicester; brother, Charles Foster of Asheville; ten grandchildren, Denise Brannen, Patrick Brannen, Jon Ann Plemmons, Jeff McCoy, Angela Shuey, Kris McCoy, Jason Rogers, Chad Rogers, John L. McCoy, Jr. and Marcee Norton; twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Ball and Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
