Lois Bowers Davis

December 29, 1913 — July 28, 2004

Asheville - Lois E. Bowers Davis, 90, died peacefully Wednesday, July 28. Born in Hart Co., Ga., she moved to Asheville with her family as a young girl. She was the eldest daughter of the late Rev. Sanford Delton and Arlie Scott Bowers. She was preceded in death by her husband Bennie H. Davis and her three sons: Homer Sanford Davis, Jean Davis and Gerald Gordon Davis. Surviving are her two grand-daughters, Arlie Jean Clark (and her husband James), Michele Davis, and great grandson Christopher Clark. Also surviving are: siblings Jewel Randall of Asheville, Mary Lou Anderson, Mildred Earnhardt, and A.G. Bowers of Greensboro and Sarah Jeffries of Gastonia, her daughter in law, Judy Stills Davis, adopted granddaughter Samantha Sexton, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Lois Davis was a very special woman who gave love freely and unconditionally. Lois was very devoted to her family. She was a devout Christian, and long time member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where the family has a plot. There are no words to describe how very special and loved she was, and always will be. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Kent Stills and Ebb Jenkins will officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Friday at the funeral home.The family will be gathering at the family home, 97 Spring Brook Rd., and at sister Jewel's home at 2834 New Leicester Hwy.
