Lloyd A. Watson

May 25, 1920 — February 5, 2004

Asheville - Lloyd A. Watson, 83, son of the late William and Esther May Watson, went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2004. Mr. Watson served in the US Army/Airforce in the Pacific in World War II and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a graduate of Blantons Business College and he worked for 35 years at Sealtest/Milk-Co where he served as comptroller. He subsequently worked for several years for Van Wingerden International. Mr. Watson owned and operated Lloyd A. Watson Realty and he had previously served on the board of the Institute of Management Accountants. He had served as a Deacon at both Merrimon Ave. Baptist and Beverly Hills Baptist Churches and he has taught Sunday School for 25 years. He was a member of the Spa Health Club and was an avid gardener who loved working outside. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Hall Watson and son, Lloyd R. Watson. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Elizabeth Crouse Watson and his children, Hazel Watson of Winston-Salem, Carol Walsh of Asheville, Dawn Crouse of Columbus, MS, and Daryl Crouse of Candler; his grandchildren, Lloyd R. II, Scott, Erin, Wesley and Frank, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Christopher, Kylie, Garrett, Frank III and Brittany; his sister, Maude Bowman of Oxen Hill, MD. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jim Russell and Tom Lomax officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. It is requested that no flowers be given due to medical problems of a family member. If you wish to give a memorial, it is requested that donations be given to the American Heart Assoc., 50 South French Broad Ave., Asheville, NC 28801 or to Merrimon Ave. Baptist Church, 283 Merrimon Ave., Asheville, NC 28801.
