Linda Sluder

Asheville – Linda Sluder, 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Sluder was a daughter of the late Fred and Clara Strickland Deaton. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ann Wilson; and brothers: Leo Deaton, Carl Deaton, Danny Deaton, and Terry Spratlin. Mrs. Sluder retired from Mills Mfg. and was then employed with Johnston Elementary School. Surviving are her husband, Jim Sluder, whom she married on May 20, 1961; daughter, Jackie Sluder Gratton and husband Mike of Arden; son, Steve Sluder of Asheville; grandchildren: Carson Gratton (Tess), Brooke Sluder (Brandon Carter), and Tristan Sluder; brother, Jack Lee Deaton (Pam) of Candler; and many nieces and nephews.
