Linda Shipman

Asheville Linda Jean McBride Shipman, 64, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of the Canal Zone in Panama, she had resided in Asheville most of her life. She was formerly employed for many years with Sky Lanes Bowling Alley and was formerly active, along with her husband, with the West Asheville Little League and was a 1971 graduate of Balboa High School in Panama Canal Zone. Mrs. Shipman was the daughter of the late Robert Eugene McBride, Sr. and Virginia Harris McBride. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Beth Gibson and brother, Robert E. McBride, Jr. Surviving are her husband whom she married October 21, 1971, A.J. Shipman, Sr.; children, Myra Suzanne White and husband, Jonathan, Wendy Boger and husband Christopher, A.J. Shipman, Jr. and wife, Carla and Bonnie King and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Rebecca Herbertson (Clinton), Rosalyn White, Emily Manis, Aliyah King, James Manis, Hunter Shipman and Jace Shipman; great grandson, Elijah David Herbertson and several nieces and nephews. The family will have a Celebration of Life at 3 PM Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Family of Faith Fellowship, 213 Long Shoals Road, Arden, NC 28704 with Rev. James King officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Saturday at the church.
