Asheville Linda Faye Baker McNeil, 65, of Asheville, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was employed with Mission Hospitals for 18 years, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was the daughter of Margaret Cooper Baker of Asheville and the late Dewey Lee Baker. In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband, Roy McNeil, of the home; sons: Scott McNeil and Jason McNeil, both of Asheville; daughter, Tamara Donati, of Asheville; three grandchildren: Jacob Arrington, Zachery Arrington, and Alexis McNeil; sister, Joan Silvers of Asheville; brother, Gerald Baker of Hendersonville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church, with Pastor Ralph Sexton, Jr., and Pastor Allen Rash officiating. Entombment will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 2:00 PM Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Care Partners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, represented by the color purple, which happened to be Lindas favorite color. In honor of Linda, and to show awareness, the family asks that anyone attending the service to please wear purple. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the McNeil family.
