Lillie M. Turner

Asheville - Lillie Mary Taylor Turner, 94, of 1957 Old Haywood Road, died Friday October 30, 2009 at the Wellmont-Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, TN. A native and resident of Buncombe County, N.C. for most of her life, she retired from Taylor Instrument Co. in 1980 and was a member of Cedar Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Turner was a daughter of the late Charles William and Annie Bell Taylor and was also preceded in death by sons, Kenny Donald Turner and Rev. Bennie H. Turner; sisters, Clara Bell Taylor and Sarah A. Galloway; brothers, Robert W. Taylor and M. Belton Taylor and sisters-in-law, Ruby S. Taylor and Caroline R. Taylor. Surviving are her son, William ONeil Turner and wife Brenda of Kingsport, TN; daughters-in-law, Donna Cook Turner of Candler and Cora Mae Turner Byers of Forest City, NC; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Pastor Larry Collins officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Cedar Hill Freewill Baptist Church, 227 Johnston Blvd., Asheville, NC 28806.
