Candler - Leila Mae Ramsey Rector, 79, of 47 Rangeview Acres, died Saturday April 9, 2005 at her home following a period of declining health. A native and resident of Buncombe County for most of her life, she had resided in Haywood County for 22 years. She was a former member of Westwood Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Rev. William Ralph Ramsey and Frances Louise Sawyer Ramsey and the wife of the late Lewis Jackson Rector who died in 1970. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald Ramsey, Eugene Ramsey, Ralph Stuart Ramsey, Dennis Ramsey, William D. Ramsey and James Garrett Ramsey and a sister, Mary Gray. Surviving are her son, Ronald Jackson Rector and wife Kathy of Candler; daughter, Deanna Louise Solesbee of Candler; grandchildren, Barry Jackson Wallin and wife Shana of Asheville, Heath Jackson Rector of Candler and Tara Rector Bradley of Cherokee; great grandchildren, Caleb Jackson Bradley of Cherokee and Cianna Nicole Rector of Enka; sisters, Georgia Dover of Woodfin, Eva Glenn and husband Jack of Asheville and Selma Ward and husband Don of Asheville and brothers, Paige Jackson Ramsey and wife Pam of Panama City, FL. and Jonal Martin Ramsey of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Harris officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Ronnie and Kathy Rector at 38 Rangeview Acres.
