Leigh "Mater" Fowler

West Asheville Patra Leigh Mater Dunson Fowler, 47, of 98 Montana Avenue, passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 15, 2014 at Mission Hospital. A native and resident most of her life of Buncombe County, she was a 1984 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School and formerly attended A-B Tech, studying Civil Engineering. Leigh loved fishing, the outdoors and was an avid animal lover. She was a daughter of Juanita Worley Smith of the home and the late Neal Robert Dunson. Surviving in addition to her mom are her sisters, Darlene Grady of the home and Suzanne Huskey and husband Bill of Asheville; two nephews, Matt Huskey (Tallie Carter) and William BB Huskey; great nieces, Cheyenne, Shelby Ann & Alivia and Kaylie & Maddie and her dog, Gixxy. A time of celebration will be held 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
