Lavada Gosnell Snelson

Asheville Cora LaVada Gosnell Snelson, 76, of 4 Pisgah Parkway went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 1, 2014. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from Precision Products and was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. Mrs. Snelson was a daughter of the late Jefferson Conover Gosnell and Cora Faye Letterman Gosnell and was also preceded in death by her maternal grandmother who was like a mother to her, Pansy Fox Letterman. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, David Randolph Snelson; daughters, Dennie Lane and husband Larry of Lebanon, TN, Deborah Jones and husband Frank of Candler and Deanna Burris and husband Jimmy of Asheville; grandchildren, Joshua Morrell, Zebulon Passmore, Chase Passmore, Maranda Warren, David Haney, Chuck Haney, Autumn Snowden, Amber Buckner, Seth Buckner and Beth Coy; 3 step-grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren; brother, Robert Sandford Gosnell and wife Judy of Asheville and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Higgins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times, the family will be at the home of Deborah and Frank Jones, 33 English Oaks Drive, Candler where David and LaVada had resided for the past 11 months.
