Larry Snelson

Asheville Marcus Larry Snelson, 85, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Knoxville, TN, he had lived in Buncombe County most of his life. Mr. Snelson retired from the Air Weather Service, was a long time member of Groce United Methodist Church and was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corp veteran. He was the son of the late Marcus Owen Snelson and Ola Vina Smith Snelson and husband of Harriett Louise Hunter Snelson who died December 31, 2005. Surviving are his sons, Harry Snelson & Jan Luquire of Burgaw and Bill Snelson & wife, Mitzi of Alexandria, VA. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Monday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Gerald Davis officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the family.
