MARSHALL - LADDY "BUD" JEROME WILDS, 74, OF 75 LUMP TOWN RD. DIED FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2000 AT HIS RESIDENCE. A NATIVE OF MADISON COUNTY, MR. WILDS HAD RESIDED IN MICHIGAN AND BUNCOMBE COUNTY FOR MANY YEARS PRIOR TO RETURNING TO MADISON COUNTY IN 1989. HE WAS A U.S. ARMY VETERAN SERVING DURING WW II, RETIRED AS AN ASSISTANT MANAGER WITH PEARLMANS WAREHOUSE AND WAS OF THE BAPTIST FAITH. HE WAS A SON OF THE LATE LEWIS AUBURN AND GENEVA McDEVITT WILDS AND WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A SISTER, BULAH SHELTON, AND BROTHERS ROY BRACKINS AND JIM HENRY WILDS. SURVIVING ARE HIS WIFE, KATHRYN MORGAN WILDS OF THE HOME; DAUGHTERS, JOYCE MORGAN OF ASHEVILLE, MARY FRUCI AND HUSBAND, FRAN OF HENDERSONVILLE, CHERYL ATKINS AND HUSBAND, BRUCE OF WEAVERVILLE; SISTERS, VELMA HENSLEY OF WEAVERVILLE, AND OLLIE HYATT OF PINEY FLATS, TENNESSEE; BROTHER, ALBERT WILDS AND WIFE, VIOLA OF ASHEVILLE; SEVERAL GRANDCHILDREN, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, NIECES AND NEPHEWS. MEMORIAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2 PM MONDAY IN THE ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL WITH THE REV. LEE ROY DENTON OFFICIATING. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FOLLOWING THE MEMORIAL SERVICE.
