Kenneth Rogers

September 9, 1920 — October 30, 2010

Asheville - Kenneth Ledbetter Rogers, 90, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010 at his home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Burlington Ind. after 33 yrs of service. He was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, former Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer. He was a son of the late Rev. Dewey and Nettie Buckner Rogers and the husband of the late Faye Freeman Rogers. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Howard Rogers. Surviving are his sons, Rev. Garry Rogers (Gaynelle) and Bill Rogers (Diana); daughters, Peggy Parham (Joe) and Sherry Hyatt (Jimmy) ; sister, Lillie Mae Wilkes; brother, Hubert Rogers; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at New Liberty Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Sprinkle, Gerald Sprinkle, Charles Rogers and Garry Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial may be made to New Liberty Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 520 Olivette Road, Asheville, NC 28804.
