Asheville – Kenneth Ray Blankenship, 58, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County he was a son of the late Frank Cicero Blankenship, Sr. and Marie Johnson Blankenship. Kenneth was a graduate of the Clyde A. Erwin High School Class of 1978, and retired in 2018 from Sysco Trucking following 36 years of service. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Debbie Blankenship of the home; son, Matthew Blankenship of the home; brother, Jr. Blankenship and wife Sherrie of Asheville; sisters-in-law: Diane Foster and Marcia Plemmons both of Candler; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1468 Jenkins Valley Rd, Alexander, NC 28701. Following services, Kenneth’s family asks that you honor his memory by bringing a covered dish and join them in the fellowship hall for a meal and fellowship.
