Kelton Deitz

ASHEVILLE - Kelton Marshal Nathaniel Deitz, 83, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. A native of Jackson County, Kelton had resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for several construction companies, and was a member of Clayton Avenue Baptist Church. Kelton was the son of the late Charlie and Rosie Jenkins Deitz and was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Fair Ellen Deitz, who passed away January 12, 2009. Surviving are his sons: Toby Deitz and wife Shelly, Jeff Deitz and wife Nancy, Johnny Deitz and wife Rose, Carl Deitz and wife Judy, Bobby Deitz and wife Vivian, and Charles Deitz and wife Debbie; raised as his sons are James Carson Deitz and Wesley Deitz; daughters: Kathy Whitson and husband Bryan and Rose Ellen Lindsey; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great, great-grandchildren, and brother, Junior Deitz. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 PM Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
