Katie Johnson

Asheville Katie Kitty Keith Johnson, 94, of 1302 Abbey Circle, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Raleigh, she had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She retired in 1993 from Dillards (Iveys) in the Jewelry Department following 21 years of service and was a longtime active member of Reed Memorial Baptist Church where she served in many areas of service within the church. Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Shepard Thee Keith and Louvenia Jones Keith and wife of William Hurdas Johnson who died May 8, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her son, Brian Johnson. Surviving are her daughters, Karen Hollifield and husband Sonny of Asheville and Kathy Spain and husband John of Charlotte; grandchildren, Ashley Neace and husband Ray of Raleigh, Karie Welsh and husband Michael of Asheville, Ben Hollifield, and Sarah Boda and husband Dave all of Charlotte and 4 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, May 10, 2013 at Pisgah View Memorial Park with Pastor Mike Hurst and Rev. Randy Melton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 P.M. following services on Friday at her residence.
