Katherine Hohstadt

Asheville Katherine Haynes Hohstadt, 83, of 31 Melody Lane, affectionately known as Nanny Tat-Tat passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011. A native of Haywood County and Buncombe County resident most of her life, she was a Home Maker and a daughter of the late Posey and Bertha Davis Haynes. Mrs. Hohstadt was also preceded in death by her husbands, Norman Fred Hohstadt who died in 1956 and Roy Frank Sams who died in 1987 and her son, Richard Hohstadt who died in 1999. Surviving are her daughters, Norma Hohstadt, Karen Pinkston, Teena Sams and Teresa Sams; companion, Howard Blevins; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; seven sisters and two brothers. Nanny Tat-Tat was known for her hospitality and kindness to everyone she met. She will be missed by all who knew her especially her four small dogs that she called her babies. She was especially kind to her large family whom she always had close by and left this life the same way she lived it, quietly and sweetly. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
