Asheville - Burgin "Junior" Ducker, Jr., 81, of 2 Hack Rhodes Drive went to be with his Lord Monday, December 20, 2010 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Madison County, he had resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He retired in 2008 from Young Transportation where he served as a Bus Driver and at the time of his formal retirement, was Operations Manager. In 2002, he was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from Young Transportation. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church. While at the church he was a member of the Sunshine Club and Fervant Mens Sunday School Class, served on the Bus, Homecoming & Building and Grounds Committees. Mr. Ducker was a former member and Board Member of the West Buncombe Volunteer Fire Department and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Ducker was the son of the late Burgin Ducker and Minnie Lee Metcalf Ducker. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Hazel Lee Lunsford Ducker who died in 1978 and Martha Elizabeth Moss Wilson Ducker who died in 2008; brother, Lee Roy Ducker; brother-in-law, C.T. Maxwell and step son, David Wilson. Surviving are his wife, Jeanette Ray-Ducker of the home; children, Tommy Ducker, Linda Gail Jones Garland (John), Dale Junior Ducker (Becky), Gary Ducker, Johnny Allen Ducker (Donna) and Angela Marie Ducker Weaver (Chuck); step children, Marcella Wilson, John Wilson (Peggy), Mike Wilson (Patricia), Mark Wilson (Lynn), Sherry Ray Worley (Rick) and Terri Ray McMahan (Kenny); sister, Irene D. Maxwell; sister-in-law, Ruby Marie Lunsford Ducker; 8 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and many special nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday at Victory Baptist Church, 80 Olivette Road, with Rev. Mark Chase, Rev. Larry Sprinkle and Rev. James Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
