June Ebbs Gillespie

Alexander June Ebbs Gillespie, age 80, of Jenkins Valley Road, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 peacefully in her sleep. A native of Spring Creek, NC, Mrs. Gillespie was preceded in death by her parents, Roten Vance Ebbs and Minnie Ebbs. She was a homemaker in the early years of her life, attended Mars Hill College and retired from Square D Plant. June was very proud of her many years of volunteering at the Brian Center. She was a devoted Christian and felt blessed to be loved by so many. Mrs. Gillespie is survived by her loving family: husband Warren, daughters, Maxine Clement and husband Roger, Jackie Haney and husband Tim, Cathy Wanamaker, son Warren Gillespie and wife Shelia; grandchildren, Bridget King and husband Kevin, Nicholas Haney and wife Jenny, Kasi Clement, Kerbi Jennings and husband Dennis, Heath Gillespie, Robby Edsell; great grandchildren; Savannah King, Emma King, Mia King, Ella King, Rayley Haney, Jozlyn Clement. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. We will all miss her warm smile, her gentle nature, her positive spirit and her endless loving support. A funeral service for Mrs. Gillespie will be at 10 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Sprinkle officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. The family will have a private burial afterwards. The family would like to give thanks and deep appreciation to those who lovingly took care of her in the last few months of her life.
