Asheville - Juanita Rhodes Garrison, 78, of 324 Old Leicester Hwy. died Tuesday May 4, 2004 at Magnolia Health Care Center following a period of declining health. A native and resident for most of her life of Buncombe County. She along with her husband was owner and operator of Garrison Grocery, was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a 1943 graduate of West Buncombe High School. She was a daughter of the late Tollie Rosco and Kitty Lee Miller Rhodes. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Robert Bob Thomas Garrison of the home; sisters, Mattie Ella DeBruhl and husband Harold of Asheville and Betty Blue Bird Rhodes Jackson of Asheville; brother, Max Rhodes and wife Judy of Asheville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Sprinkle officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with her nephews, Tommy Rhodes, Jim DeBruhl, Kim DeBruhl, Mark Jackson, Chris Jackson and Danny Jackson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Betty Jackson, 325 Church Road, Asheville.
