Joyce Brown

FAIRVIEW Joyce Hill Brown, 61, of 23 Charlie Hill Memorial Drive passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. She resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a Private Duty LPN, member of Swansylvania Baptist Church in Dandridge, TN, and was a devoted mother and family mentor. Mrs. Brown was a daughter of Evelyn Jesse Wilburn Hill of Fairview and the late Charlie Alvoyd Hill and the wife of Bedford Buddy Smith Brown, III who died March 2, 2009. Surviving in addition to her mother are her children, Stephen Chris Gibson and wife, Greta of Asheville; Audrey Fedock and husband, Jon of Leicester; Alex Gibson of Fairview; Jon Scott Gibson and wife, Jessica of Fairview; sisters, Carole Harvey and husband Jake of Villa Rica, GA, Sandy Whitaker and husband, Winfred of Fairview and Toni Runion and husband, David of Fairview; brother, Todd Hill and wife, Kim of Fairview; 3 grandchildren, Garrett, Jonas and Sarah; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 3:30 PM Sunday Emmas Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Wilson and Rev. Mike Hensley officiating. Private burial will be at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 PM Sunday at the church.
