Fletcher - Joy Allison King, 37, of 3 Hudson Lane, died unexpectedly Friday, September 10, 2004. In memory of my loving wife, Joy. You were the love of my life, for every day your beautiful smile and your caring and thoughtfull ways you were with everyone that knew you. I know that God has taken you to a better place. I will see you in Heaven, your loving husband forever, Roger. A native of Whittier, she had lived the majority of her life in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and had been a resident of Fletcher for the past two years. She was the daughter of Lamada Thompson and step-daughter of Dean Thompson of Clyde. She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Allison and beloved grandfather, Troy Gunter. Surviving, in addition to her mother and step-father, are her husband, Roger L. King; her sister, Kim Holder and husband B.D. of Whittier; their children, Travis and Jake; her brother Mike Allison and his fiance Pam of Candler; their children: Brandi, Chrystal, Brooklyn and Chase; maternal grandmother, Julia Gunter of Whittier and paternal grandparents, Ralph and Emma Allison of Whittier. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Hyatts Chapel Baptist Church, with the Revs. Eddie Stillwell, Steve Webb, and Dale Roberts officiating. The family will be receiving friends at various times at the home of Joys grandmother, Ms. Julia Gunter, on Camp Creek Road in Whittier. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the King family with their arrangements.
