Jose Velazquez

ASHEVILLE Jose Gualupe Velazquez, 76, of 565 Haywood Road, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at his home. A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Mr. Velazquez had resided in Asheville since 1974. He was the owner and operator of Jose and Dolores Mexican Restaurant on Haywood Road. He was the son of the late Juan and Agripina Garcia Velazquez. Surviving is his wife, Guillermina T. Velazquez, of the home; sons: Jose Alfredo Velazquez and Jacob Velazquez, both of Asheville; and sister-in-law, Dolores Tovar, of the home. Memorial services will be held at 4 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymundo Gonzalez officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home.
