Johnny Rogers

Johnny Rogers Leicester – Johnny Edward Rogers, 76, of 224 West Wonder Road, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he had resided in Buncombe County since the age of 13 and was the Owner & Operator of John Rogers and Son Welding Company. He was a member of State Street Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and former choir leader. Mr. Rogers was the son of the late Alvin Luther Rogers and Fannie Jo Pace Rogers. He was also preceded in death by his 4 brothers, Wiley Carroll Rogers, Alvin Luther Rogers, Billy Eugene Rogers and Horace Luish Rogers; 3 sisters, Annie May Garrett, Ola Marie Gibson and Draima Christine Hyatt. Surviving are his wife, Vivian Lee Hyatt Rogers, whom he married August 19, 1961; son, Johnny Carroll Rogers and wife, Connie of Leicester; daughter, Sandra Kay Goodson and husband, David of Enka; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Wanda Sue Baldwin and husband, Ron of West Asheville and several nieces and nephews.
