Johnny Mack Christopher

Candler Johnny Mack Christopher, 76, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Charles George V.A. Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a veteran of the US Army and was the son of the late Perry McKinley Christopher and Nora Ethel Griffin Christopher. He was also preceded in death by his son, Johnny Mack Christopher, Jr. and two brothers and one sister. Surviving are his wife, Delores Dee Lolita Lambert Christopher of the home; children, Terry Lee Christopher and wife Debbie of SC and Tena Penley and husband Jimmy of Candler; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and sisters, Linda Ledford and husband Clyde of Baltimore, MD and Betty Rogers and husband Roy of Candler. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, November 6, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military honors to be conducted by the NC National Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.
