Candler - Johnny Dean Jarvis, 55, of Candler, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Stonecreek Health and Rehab Center. A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Jarvis worked as a machine operator for the Asheville Citizen-Times, and had attended Fruits of Labor Worship Center. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. Mr. Jarvis was the son of Betty Ferguson Jarvis and the late James Jarvis. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Emmett Honeycutt. Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife of 20 years, Grace Maxine Stuart Jarvis; step-children: Jack Bowman, Jeff Bowman, Kevin Arrington (Lisa), and Robbie Arrington; grandchildren: Tyler Arrington and Matt Bowman (Ashley); his great-granddaughter, who was the apple of his eye: Gracie Bowman; sisters: Pam Bates, Tammy Styles, and Terrie Meadows; brother, Keith Jarvis; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Pastor Willie Warren, Rev. Larry Nix, and Rev. Andy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Jarvis Family Cemetery in Mars Hill, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
