John "Mac" Stribling

John Malcolm Mac Stribling, 75, of 283 Owenby Cove Road, went to be with his Lord Saturday, August 30, 2014. A native of Ninety-Six, SC, he had resided in Savannah, GA from 1974 until moving to Buncombe County where he, along with his wife, have resided for the past 10 years. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years, He formerly served at Duke Hospital as Assistant Administrator Director and while in Savannah, was employed with Charter Hospital for 15 years. Following his retirement he enjoyed his work with the Biltmore Estate driving the shuttle buses. He formerly attended Furman University and was a graduate of Lander University in Greenwood, SC. He received his certification in Hospital Administration Education from Duke University, former member and past President of both Southside and Westside Rotary Clubs in Savannah, GA and along with his wife, was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church, where active in the Bible Study Class and former choir member. Mr. Stribling was the son of the late Isaac Samuel and Ruth Havird Stribling. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Don Stribling, formerly of Ninety-Six, SC. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Delaina Robertson Stribling of the home; daughters, Lynette Edwards and husband Rusty of Cummings, GA, Donna Carole Kitchens and husband Rollie of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Dyanne Parker of Fairview; grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Abbey, Zachary, Nathan, Courtney and Tyler. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Friday, September 5, 2014 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Stan Welch and David Ingram, Chaplain of the Biltmore Estate officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held 2PM Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Kershaw City Cemetery in Kershaw, SC.
