John Calvin "Bo" Young

Woodfin - John Calvin Bo Young, 82, of 188 Elk Mountain Road passed away Saturday December 29, 2007. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired from ETL Corp. following 28 years of service. He was a former Town of Woodfin Alderman and a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a son of the late Joe Henry and Carrie Redmond Young and was also preceded in death by sister, Willie Wright and brothers, Thomas Butch Young and Hamilton Hamp Young. Surviving are his wife, Grace Marie Jarvis Young of the home; daughters, Maria Slagle and husband Ron of Woodfin and Tammy Nix of Asheville; sons, Roger Lee Young and wife Laura of Rincon, GA and Ronald Edward Young and wife Tami of Woodfin; brothers, Clarence Snuffy Young of Woodfin, Harold Rooney Young and wife Dot of Weaverville and Joe Hunky Young and wife Lucy of Asheville; grandchildren, Michael Player, Candis Randall, Colby Nix, Tyler Nix, Jennifer Young, Ashley Young, Hunter Young and Hayden Young; great grandchildren, Tahlor Player, Tripp Player and Austin Randall and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held in the Mausoleum of Ashelawn Gardens of Memory at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday with the Rev. Keith Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
