Jewitt Scott

Asheville Jewitt Gordon Scott, 81, formerly of 35 Knob Hill Road, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2012 after a period of declining health. Mr. Scott was a native and resident most of his life of Buncombe County and was the son of the late Hewell Gordon and Ellen Thomas Scott. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Gail Scott who died in 1985. Mr. Scott graduated from Sand Hill School and also attended Cecils College, he served in the U.S. Navy for 5 years of which he was stationed in Korea for 2 years and had served on the USS Toledo. He had retired from Nabisco after 35 years of service, during which, he received numerous awards for outstanding performance. He is survived by his partner, Natalie Juergens; daughters, Gwen Nieradko and Cheryl Huntley; brother, Bobby Scott and four grandchildren. There will be no formal visitation. A graveside service will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller officiating. Memorials may be made to: The Salvation Army, P.O.
