Jessie Mae Dover

June 21, 1914 — April 8, 2009

Weaverville Jessie Mae Sexton Dover, 94, of 97 Pink Fox Road passed away Wednesdsay, April 8, 2009 at her home. A native of Madison County, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a farmer and homemaker, formerly worked at Beacon Mfg Company and was a member of Browns Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Dover was a daughter of the late John Jefferson Sexton, Sr. and Hannah Elizabeth Wilson Sexton and wife of Clinton Maize Dover who died in 1979. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Clubb and brothers, Woodard, Willard and Wade Sexton. Surviving are her sisters, Connie Brinkley of Weaverville, Alma Lee Frisbee of Marshall and Eloise Hampton of Winston-Salem; brothers, Wayne Sexton of Winston-Salem and John Sexton, Jr. of Twin Falls, Idaho; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Ebb Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Brinkley, Phillip Davis, John Davis, Ryan Brinkley, Wayne Ballard and Josh Lester. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
