Jerry Ramsey

Candler - Jerry Gene Ramsey, 69, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Asheville Nursing and Healthcare Center. A native of Madison County, Mr. Ramsey had resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He worked as a professional painter, and was an avid fisher and CB radio operator. Mr. Ramsey was the son of the late Pete and Salley Kate Chandler Ramsey, and was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Surviving are his children: Jerry Norton, Joyce Ramsey, Pete Ramsey and wife Chrysaundra, and Debra Ramsey and husband Ronnie Jones; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at the Ramsey Family Cemetery in Mars Hill. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 PM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
