Jerry Mccoy

Asheville Gerald Jerry Dean McCoy, 76, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the St Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and resident of Buncombe County for most of his life, he retired as Owner/Operator and Distributor of Kitchen/Cooking Equipment and attended various churches over his life and lastly attended Brookstone Church. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. McCoy was a son of the late John Nolan McCoy and Lois Margery Foster McCoy and husband of Janet Reeves McCoy who died August 19, 1993 and was formerly married to Jean Clark McCoy who died September 10, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette McCoy Brannen. Surviving are his children, JonAnn Plemmons, Jeff Allen McCoy, Angie Lois Shuey (Ray) and Gregory Kristen McCoy (Amanda) all of Asheville; grandchildren, Shannon Hallowell (Keith), Jesse Plemmons, Tristen and Savannah Shuey and Tre McCoy; great grandchildren Addie and Isaiah; sister, Lynda McCoy Rogers (Craig) of Leicester; brother, Larry McCoy of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, May 21, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Dykes officiating. Burial will follow in Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery.
