Jerry Baker

Asheville – Gerald Darius “Jerry” Baker, Jr, 55, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a 1983 graduate of Enka High School and was the son of Gerald Darius Baker and wife Candace Baker of Mills River and Carolyn Apple and husband Bob Apple of Weaverville. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife whom he married June 22, 2013, Kelly Pearson Baker; children, Brent, Patricia, Heather and Logan; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Kimberly Filipek of Arden and Jennifer Dennis and husband David of Seminole, FL; half brother, Joshua Baker and wife Elizabeth of Mills River and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday, February 12, 2021 at Green Hills Cemetery, with Pastor Allen Rash officiating. Jerry will lie in state from 10 AM to 1 PM Friday at the funeral home for those who wish to come by.
