Jennie Lou Hood

Asheville - Jennie Lou Sherlin Bryson Hood, 79, formerly of 75 Haywood Street, Vanderbuilt Apts. died Friday, July 30, 2004 at the Blue Ridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was formerly employed as a cook with the Buncombe County Child Development and attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Mrs. Hood was the daughter of the late John Reagan Sherlin and Melinda Jane Linda Plemmons Sherlin and the wife of Benjamin Ramon Hood, Sr. who died November 6, 1996. Surviving are her sons, Charles L. Bryson, Jr. of Atlanta, GA and Jerry C. Bryson of Black Mountain; step son, Benjamin R. Hood, Jr. of Asheville; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. James Shields officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at a later date.
