Jeff Porter

Asheville - Jeffery Jeff Allen Porter, 42, died Thursday October 18, 2007 at his home. Born in Bellaire, OH, he was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was formerly employed by the Asheville Citizen-Times as a paper inserter. He was a son of Louise Rice Brown of Candler and the late Robert William Porter, Sr. and was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Golen Mamaw Rice. Surviving in addition to his mother are his brother, Robbie Porter and wife Connie of Dacula, GA; sisters, Libby Hannah and husband Randy of Candler, Rhonda Burris and husband Gary of Asheville, Irma Willard and husband Steve of Arden and Crystal Lynn Porter of Snellvelle, GA; best friend, Richard Brank of Enka; aunt Mary Mathes of Candler; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including, Darlene Myers, Johnny Mathes and Joyce Freeman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Brockwell officiating. Burial will be in Elk Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
