Weaverville - James B. Conger, II, 86, died on Monday, December 31, 2012. James was a retired self-employed diesel mechanic and a hit-and-miss engine enthusiast. James was a resident of the Brian Center in Weaverville, NC. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claudia Mae Clayborn Conger, and by a son, Joseph Lee Conger. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Conger; and his children: Ben Conger, Donna Sue Woon, and Patricia Taylor, and their families, and step-son, Charles Campbell, all of Asheville. James had nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. James will be buried at the WNC State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the family.
