Asheville - James Edgar Robinson, 88, of 103 Brickyard Road, died Saturday, January 17, 2004 at his home following a brief illness. A native of Madison County. He had resided in Buncombe County since 1963, retired from Burlington Industries after 25 years of service and following his retirement, worked at Hayes & Lunsford Motor Shop for 10 years. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served as deacon and church elder. He was the son of the late William Burgin and Jennie Wallin Robinson and husband of Queen Elizabeth Waldrup Robinson who died April 5, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his son, Carl E. Robinson, two brothers and four sisters. Surviving are his sons, Guy J. Robinson of Alexander, Gay D. Robinson of Asheville; daughters, Ann R. Ricker of Arden, Joyce Rector of Asheville; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Eb Jenkins and Rev. H. L. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and at other times, the family will be at the residence.
