James Christopher "Chris" Martin

Leicester - James Christopher Chris Martin, 31, of Leicester, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 16, 2008 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was an accomplished Eagle Scout and The Order of the Arrow. Chris was a graduate of A-B Tech, with degrees in Engineering. He then became a computer instructor with A-B Tech while he worked towards his BS at Western Carolina University. He played a major role in several energy conservation projects through the federal government and WCU. Chris will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and son. He was the son of Daniel Lee Lunsford, Sr. and wife Renee of Candler, and Wanda Martin Huntsman and husband William of Leicester. Chris was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Lee Martin. In addition to his parents, surviving are his wife, Amy Parker Martin, of the home; children: Parker Daniel Martin and Hannah Leann Martin, of the home; and two half-brothers: Robert Matthew Bruchette of Wilmington, NC and Daniel Lee Lunsford, Jr. of Candler. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a scholarship fund for Parker and Hannah Martin, C/O A-B Tech, Attn.
