Asheville Jack Donald Nanney passed away at his home peacefully, Saturday, October 25, 2008 with his beloved wife by his side. A native of Buncombe County. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 to1962, was a member of Fruit of Labor Worship Center and he loved the Lord. He was also a member of Old Timers Model A Club of WNC. Mr. Nanney was the son of the late Sam and Sue Nanney of Black Mountain. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jack D. Nanney, Jr. and three brothers, Wetzell Nanney, Harold Nanney and James Nanney. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Reba Crisp Nanney of the home; three children, Sharon Rhodes of Asheville, Cheryl Gallop of Willis, MI and Daryl Nanney of Weaverville; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; step son, Danny Crisp and step daughter, Michelle Bingham both of Hendersonville; three step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lois Davis of Swannanoa and brother, Jerry Nanney of Black Mountain. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. William Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
