Iva Mckinney

Asheville - Iva Hamlin McKinney, 75, of Asheville, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Ms. McKinney worked as a private duty bookkeeper, and handled the accounting practices for several small businesses in the area. She was the daughter of the late Floyd Glen Hamlin, Sr. and Vada Fender Hamlin. She was also preceded in death by one sister and five brothers. Surviving are her children: Jeff McKinney and wife Donna, Donna Henson and husband Joe, and Rick McKinney and wife Tonya; grandchildren: Myranda McKinney, Nolan McKinney, Heather French and husband Matt, Kyle Henson, Allen Taylor, Hailey Taylor and Jacob Taylor; great-grandchildren: Kayleigh French and Braiden French; sisters: Faye Hamlin and Margaret Frizzell; brothers: Billy Hamlin, Eddie Hamlin, Glen Hamlin, Jr., and Aaron Hamlin; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
