Irene Renfro

Asheville Irene Caldwell Renfro, 81, of 23 Ralphs Lane, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. Mrs. Renfro was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and retired from Memorial Mission Hospital following 25 years of service. She was a daughter of the late Lester and Mary Magdalene Clark Caldwell and the wife of Baxter Renfro who died October 20, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lester Caldwell, Jr. and sisters, Margaret Gentry and Evelyn Waddell. Surviving are her daughters, Patricia Robinson and husband Gary, Linda Robinson and husband Mike all of Asheville; Debra Plemmons and husband Lee of Arden and Janice Metcalf and husband Dickie of Skyland; son, Michael Renfro and wife Brenda of Marshall; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Moffitt; brother, David Caldwell and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday, March 23, 2018 at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Keith Hutchinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home
