Ina Smith Allen

Ina Smith Allen, 73, of West Asheville, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late Archie and Valree Summey Smith, and was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Rev. James D. Allen. Ina was a devoted wife and mother, and she spent her life serving her Lord through music, prayer, and ministry. Surviving are her children: Veronda Allen Murphy of Asheville, Terry M. Allen and his wife Kaylynne of Asheville, and Tony Allen and his wife Yasmine of Auburndale, FL; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Bowman and her husband Tommy of Candler; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 2 PM, with Rev. Steve Brockwell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
